Plan nutrition and irrigation with the whole field in mind

Water and fertilizer decisions draw on much of the same field knowledge. The crop, previous operations, soil analysis and weather all shape the questions your team needs to answer. Sensorius brings that information together so nutrition and irrigation can be discussed as part of the same farm plan. Use existing laboratory results and field records as a starting point. Add local measurements where sensors are installed, and consider remote control where compatible equipment supports it. Your team decides the work and the operator carries out equipment commands.

Precision agriculture with Sensorius

Connect decisions that draw on the same resources

Nutrition and irrigation are often discussed by different people or at different times. The farm manager sees costs and planned operations, the agronomist considers the crop and soil, and the irrigation operator knows the installation. With the same field information in front of them, they can discuss the decision together.

Sensorius connects available information with the field it concerns. Your team can discuss a planned input or irrigation change in relation to the crop, recent work and forecast. This helps your team explain why the operation is needed before committing resources. The platform brings the information together; your team makes the agronomic choices and sets the order of work.

Give laboratory results a place in the field plan

A soil test is easier to use when the result remains connected with where the sample came from and what the farm wants to decide. Sensorius supports laboratory report upload and matching results to fields and sampling zones. That connection lets the team return to the source when discussing nutrition.

The laboratory method, units, sample depth and collection date affect how a result can be interpreted. Interpret each result with those details and the intended crop in mind. A qualified agronomist and the laboratory determine how to interpret it for your region. Sensorius does not turn an uploaded number into a fertilizer dose merely by displaying it on the field.

See what local measurements add

On a field with an installed SENS-SOIL-BASIC-V1, soil moisture and temperature readings add information about conditions at the device location. Your team can consider changes alongside the available forecast and irrigation or work records. You can then discuss local measurements alongside periodic observations.

An installed SENS-SOIL-NPK-V1 adds soil readings to the information about that field. Those readings complement the discussion and do not replace laboratory analysis or determine a dose alone. Devices should be chosen for the question they can support, with installation and measurement interpretation checked for the site. You can begin with the records you already have before deciding whether a sensor adds useful detail.

Keep timing visible in the discussion

The field plan links what the team intends to do with when it might be practical. Available forecasts and crop information help you discuss when to carry out water or nutrient-related work. Recent operation records show what has already happened and which questions remain open.

Choosing an input also means choosing when the work can happen. Staff, equipment and local conditions have to fit. Sensorius helps you discuss that timing. It does not set a universal irrigation trigger or a suitable application window for every material. Applicable product instructions and field assessment remain part of the final choice.

Control compatible equipment through a separate operator action

Where SENS-FLOW-CTRL-V1 is correctly installed with a compatible irrigation or fertigation actuator, an operator can send remote commands through Sensorius. This makes equipment control part of the offer for suitable installations, alongside the information used to prepare the decision.

The installation must have an agreed safety procedure and a way to confirm the result. Available input feedback needs to be checked before treating an action as complete. A command being sent does not prove valve position or water flow. The Agronomic Adviser and customer MCP connections do not send control commands; the operator uses the supported control interface separately.

Reviewed laboratory recommendations are the next step

In preparation: a laboratory report that connects results with field and season context, explains them and provides calculated recommendations after qualified review. This is the next stage after the upload and zone matching available today. It is not presented here as an available recommendation service.

The proposed report keeps the original results so its interpretation can be checked. Its agronomic rules and calculations need review for the supported crop, region and laboratory methods. We can discuss your reporting needs now and explain which parts of the process are available, which need an operator and which remain in preparation.

Begin with one recurring input decision

Choose a field where your team regularly discusses nutrition or water. Bring the crop, recent input and irrigation records, laboratory reports and any installed-device measurements. Describe who decides the operation and who is responsible for equipment.

That gives us a specific decision to discuss. If you want to assess costs, use your own records for inputs, work and the full deployment cost. Sensorius does not claim a measured reduction in fertilizer, water or expenditure without an approved farm comparison.

Two examples of combined review

These examples are illustrative discussions only. They are not Sensorius customer results or crop-specific prescriptions.

A planned application before a weather change

The team is preparing an application when the forecast changes. It opens the soil analysis, crop details and record of materials already used, then checks the purpose behind the original plan. If an NPK device is installed, its available reading is considered as another source.

The agronomist and farm manager discuss which conditions to verify and whether the plan needs review. The material, amount and timing require an applicable agronomic assessment. The team agrees on a next step and who will check it; this example does not prescribe a dose.

Check data between irrigation events

An operator notices a change in moisture readings after the previous irrigation. The team compares the measurement time with the operation record, stored forecast and observations in the field. It discusses what those sources can tell it and what remains unknown before making the next decision.

If the team chooses a remote action, the operator checks the installed system and how completion will be confirmed. Afterward the team can return to available readings and observations. This review helps reconstruct what happened; it does not by itself prove reduced water use or a yield change.

Common questions

Can we start with an analysis we already have?

Yes. Discuss uploading and matching the report you have. Check which field and samples it describes and note its methods and units. A qualified agronomist must assess whether the data fit the decision you are considering.

Do I need an NPK sensor to use laboratory results?

No. Laboratory results are a source on their own. An installed sensor may add field context, but it does not replace laboratory analysis or establish an application rate alone.

Are recommendations calculated from uploaded results already?

Upload and matching to a field and zones are available. A reviewed report with calculated recommendations is a planned next increment. Sensorius has not announced a release date for that workflow.

Can we control any valve?

Control requires compatible equipment and a checked installation. Confirm the actuator, power, signals and what the operator should do if the system fails. Having a Sensorius device does not make every farm system compatible.

How can we assess possible economic value?

Compare your current process with the changed workflow, including materials, water, labour, visits and full Sensorius costs. Keep season conditions and other changes in view; only a measured farm comparison can show the result for your operation.

Discuss one recurring task

Choose a nutrient or water question the team is preparing. Bring the field and zone details, relevant reports and measurements, and the equipment context. We can discuss what Sensorius supports today and what needs further review.

One installed sensor adds local context beside irrigation and work records

Common questions

Can we use this without installing equipment?

Yes. Field records, laboratory results and available weather information can provide a starting point. Measurements and remote control are additions for tasks and installations where they are suitable.

Are recommendations calculated from uploaded tests today?

Current support covers upload and field/zone matching. Reviewed reports with calculated recommendations are in preparation. Their availability requires product demonstration and qualified agronomic review.

Does an NPK sensor replace a laboratory test?

No. Installed sensor readings add information about conditions at the sensor location. Laboratory analysis retains its own method and sampling conditions, which are needed for interpreting results and planning fertilizer use.

Can nutrition advice automatically start fertigation?

No. Advice and equipment control are separate. A trained operator uses the supported interface after compatibility, installation, safety and completion checks have been agreed.

Which decision should we start with?

Choose an operation your team revisits regularly and for which you already have some records. We can discuss what information is missing, which services fit and whether additional measurements would help.
