Privacy Policy for Sensorius service

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Sensorius (“Sensorius”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) processes information in connection with the Sensorius Service mobile application (the “App”).

The App is designed to discover nearby Sensorius devices over Bluetooth Low Energy (“BLE”), connect to supported devices, read device data, review diagnostics, and send user-requested configuration or control commands.

If you use the App through an employer, distributor, customer deployment, or other organization-managed environment, that organization may separately control or instruct the processing of data related to its users, devices, and services.

Information we process

Depending on how you use the App and on the data stored on a connected device, the App may process the following categories of information.

Information from your mobile device:
- BLE-related identifiers and metadata for nearby devices, such as device names and platform Bluetooth identifiers.
- Permission status information, such as whether Bluetooth access has been granted.
- Your selected in-app language preference, which is stored locally on your device.

Information read from connected Sensorius devices:
- Device identifiers and technical information, such as device name, hardware version, software version, IMEI, NCCID, and DevEUI.
- Device settings, such as cloud IP or DNS, port, APN, DNS values, network registration mode, and timing values.
- Operational and diagnostic information, such as uptime, startup count, wake-up count, battery data, voltage data, modem status, network usage, and connection logs.
- Sensor and telemetry information stored on the device, such as soil readings, device temperature, and coordinates reported by the device.
- Stored packets and live device log output read over BLE during troubleshooting, maintenance, or support workflows.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:
- discover, connect to, and manage supported Sensorius devices;
- display device status, settings, identifiers, telemetry, and diagnostics inside the App;
- send user-requested settings updates and remote actions to devices over BLE;
- support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance workflows;
- remember your selected language preference;
- protect the security, reliability, and integrity of the App and connected devices.

Legal bases

Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we generally rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide the App and requested device-management functionality;
- legitimate interests, including security, maintenance, diagnostics, and service reliability;
- consent or device-level permission, where required for Bluetooth access or related operating-system permissions.

On some Android versions, BLE scanning requires location permission at the operating-system level. The App requests that permission to enable BLE discovery on those versions and not to determine your phone’s location. Separately, the App may display coordinates when a connected Sensorius device itself reports coordinates.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal data through the current mobile client.

We may share information: of the following legal bases:
- with your organization, administrators, operators, integrators, or support personnel when they manage Sensorius devices and related services;
- with service providers and infrastructure providers that help us operate, support, or secure the App and related Sensorius services;
- with Apple, Google, or other platform providers to the extent necessary for operating-system features such as Bluetooth permissions, local storage, clipboard handling, backup, or similar platform services;
- where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or property.

If you use the App to configure a device’s cloud endpoint or communication settings, the connected device may later send data directly to that configured endpoint independently of the App.

Retention

The App is designed to minimize persistent storage in the mobile client.
- Your language preference is stored locally on your device until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Device logs shown in the App are kept in runtime memory for the active session unless you explicitly copy them to the clipboard.
- Device snapshots, telemetry, settings, and stored packets are primarily read from the connected device during use and are not intended to be permanently retained by the current mobile client beyond runtime state needed to operate the App.

If you copy logs or stored packets to the clipboard, that copied content may remain available on your device until it is overwritten or cleared according to your device and operating-system behavior.

Permissions and device features

The App currently uses Bluetooth permissions on Android and iOS to discover, connect to, and configure nearby Sensorius devices.

On Android, the App also requests fine location permission on older platform versions because BLE discovery may depend on that permission at the operating-system level.

App does not use the mobile device camera, microphone, or contacts.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through the App. However, no wireless communication method, device storage system, or electronic transmission channel can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device-level security, including screen lock, operating-system updates, controlled access to copied diagnostics, and appropriate handling of device identifiers, logs, and telemetry.

International transfers

If information is transferred to affiliates, partners, or service providers in other countries, we will apply appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where consent is the legal basis.

If you use the App through an organization-managed deployment, some privacy requests may need to be directed to your employer, administrator, customer account owner, or another controller responsible for that deployment.

You may also control certain processing directly by:
- revoking device permissions;
- clearing app data or uninstalling the App;
- avoiding clipboard export of sensitive diagnostics;
- disconnecting or reconfiguring the associated Sensorius device.

Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for professional, technical, agricultural, industrial, and operational use and is not directed to children.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
